How Avenger’s Endgame should have played out

“Avenger’s Infinity War” left us with Thanos fulfilling his diabolical plan of exterminating half of the Marvel Universe. The Mad Titan, Thanos, amassed the six infinity stones that allows him to control the universe as if he was a God. When the climax of the movie arrived, the heroes were left completely powerless to stop the decimation that awaited the half of the universe’s populace. We beloved heroes, such as Groot, Starlord, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Man.

The recently released “Captain Marvel” is set up to play a connecting role between Infinity War and the upcoming “Avengers: Endgame.” Carol Danvers or Captain Marvel is set to play a major role in Endgame. But I find the villains showcased in Marvel’s “Captain Marvel” are much more exciting for the potential storylines of Endgame and the movies that follow it.

The Skrulls are shapeshifting green aliens that have been warring with a neighboring alien race called the Kree. The Kree are the blue aliens that have been in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 & 2.” These Skrulls have been shown in the comics to launch “Secret Invasions” of planets by shapeshifting into prominent inhabitants of the planet and then annexing them after they have managed to take control over that planet.

In fact, this is what happens in the Marvel Comics storyline “Secret Invasion,” The Skrulls hijack the identities of several superheroes. The Skrulls had just been left planet-less by a giant planet eating monster called Galactus. These aliens in search of a new home infiltrate earth and mirror many of the superheroes on earth including Ant-man, Captain Marvel, and Black Bolt. This malicious alien  race placed their Skrulls in the institutions that controlled the Marvel Earth like the U.S. and Wakanda’s government and SHIELD. After the Skrulls reveal they are on the planet, the world transforms into a hysterical mess.  It becomes impossible to tell a Skrull from a living breathing human.

A variation of this simple storyline would be a great place to start “Avenger: Endgame.” What if instead of what happens in “Avengers: Endgame” some of the dead Marvel heroes could’ve been replaced by Skrulls. Fans are now currently guessing who may be Skrulls. People have speculated whether Captain America, Nick Fury, Iron Man, and other characters may be disguised as shapeshifting aliens. But if the Skrulls had seemingly replaced the vanished heroes and villains have immediately after Thanos annihilates half of the universes’ population. SNAP!  These faux heroes may seem to give be able to sell their new identities, and we follow the movie completely unaware which hero could be a danger and unaware of this threat.

The remaining Avengers then plan to avenge their fallen friends and loved ones who were all killed by Thanos in the previous Avengers movie. We then fast forward until the Avengers finally defeat Thanos and resurrect the half of the Universe that were decimated by Thanos’s finger SNAP. Everyone gets resurrected prompting the Skrulls to immediately start their invasion and hit at the battle-wary protagonists. This would then lead into “Avengers 5: Secret Invasion,” where the Avengers must reclaim Earth from the alien invaders.

This would be a major plot twist that no normal superhero fan would have expected. It may be outlandish, but there

are real creative possibilities. So, many that this potential plot twist could be become the movie event of the century (besides Infinity War).
