Casey Rocket was nothing short of a fourth quarter comeback with seconds on the clock. Quick, poised and “in the pocket” during his sets recently at the Blue Whale Comedy Festival.
The nationally renowned comedian walked out on the stage doing his famous crab walk before gracing the people at a sold-out show in Bob’s room at Cain’s ballroom.
Casey is not only known for his crab walking, Tittyboi Lacroy as he is also referred to as, but also his love of the “tuss” referencing Robitussin. He stated in a joke about how he and his friend both did the “tuss” and his friend was skinning horses in the popular video game Red Dead Redemption for hours.
Casey is a mover while on stage, he must move around and do short riffs because as he calls it, “We’re havin’ fun.” He has a few popular phrases that he uses throughout his set, “Maybach Music, “Never made it as a wise man…” among others.
Rocket was a crowd favorite at the festival performing twice. He also was a feature on fellow comedian Reggie Watts’ show on the main stage at Cains ballroom. Casey is no stranger to the standup scene.
Casey started doing standup at Georgia Southern University about 9 years ago. Rocket’s first time on stage was in college. He was 20 years old and sang “Chandelier” by Sia for the school’s talent show.
Soon after college, he moved to Austin, Texas, to live out his dream. One of his first auditions was for a job at a local comedy club named The Comedy Mothership. Rocket was one of the first rounds of hires at the new club.
Rocket was also living in his car during this time but soon found success on stage. In an interview with him during his visit to Tulsa he said, A friend and local comedian Brian Redband “helped me move out of my car and into an apartment.”

He can be seen as a regular on a popular live comedy podcast show called “Kill Tony” held every Monday night at The Comedy Mothership. Casey recently was a featured comedian on the “Kill Tony” show at Madison Square Garden.
In response to a question about how he felt performing not to one but two sold-out shows, he said, “I’ve been doing stand up for nine years, really felt coming into my own. (I) felt really, really good.”
He said about his first time on “Kill Tony,” which was the 555th episode. He was happy that he got pulled from the bucket, which can sometimes have hundreds of comedians who sign up for a chance at 60 seconds in front of millions of people.
Casey is currently on a national tour. For his upcoming dates, see the link below.
Appearing with Casey and Watts at The Blue Whale Comedy festival were Josh Fadem, Michael Longfellow, among others.
