MiTea: Where Creativity, Wellness, and Community Brew in Harmony

When Tea Rush, artist and founder of MiTea, envisioned her business, she was not just thinking about tea; she was building a collective. From the very beginning, her intention was clear: create a safe, vibrant space where artists can express themselves, and where health and wellness are just as central as creativity.

“Before the tea itself, it was a vision for our creative community [Tulsa],” Tea Rush says. “I wanted an intimate space where they could express themselves, where they could be heard and the comfort of tea.”

That vision began with one special blend, the Orange Swirl, a mix of herbal tea, orange slices, and vanilla that marked the birth of MiTea. Today, the menu has grown to include fan favorites like peach oolong with a splash of lime, as well as custom blends designed by Z the Alchemist, MiTea’s master crafter, who brings artistry and intention to every tea and coffee creation.

As a singer and writer, herself, Tea Rush understands the needs of artists deeply.

“Being a singer, I used tea all the time to coat my throat.”

Her personal experience with music shaped the foundation of the lounge and its commitment to supporting creatives.

From open mic nights and R&B nights to Tempo and Tea, an event born from collaboration with local creatives, MiTea thrives as a hub for artistic energy and connection. Events like MiTea R&B and DJ showcases with Tulsa Creative Engine emerged from this vision.

“Knowing that music helps with mental health, just expression, we wanted to say, along with our teas and supplements that help your overall life, you can also take time to express yourself through music, with healing included in that,” Tea Rush shares.

But MiTea is more than an event space, it is a home away from home.

“We want you to know when you come in, it’s just like family,” Tea Rush says. “We care about your health. We care about how your day has been. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave; everything should make you feel like this is the place to be.”

Music still flows through MiTea, but so does something equally important: wellness. Tea Rush has gone beyond offering drinks; she has created custom blends and wellness programs designed to support mental clarity, immunity, and overall health. The menu includes teas, herbal supplements, and sea moss blends, tailored to individual needs.

“Music heals, but so does what you put in your body,” she says. “That’s why everything we serve is intentional.”

And that intention is growing. What began as a trial location has blossomed into three successful years, and now, Tea Rush is looking ahead. “We’ve been here almost three years, and we do want to try to open another location here in Tulsa,” she explains. “From there, expand into other cities we have been looking at, like Texas and Kansas City. Texas is the first step.”
