The Tulsa Community College gathered on Oct. 28 to greet and meet the candidates for the City of Tulsa’s mayoral office. The event, held at the Thomas K. McKeon Center for Creativity, featured County Commissioner Karen Keith and St. Rep. Monroe Nichols. Local professional and student journalists and other members of the college community, including students, faculty, staff, and administration welcomed the candidates. Together, they were able to engage and hear directly from those vying for the Office of Mayor just one week before the election on Nov. 5.
The program was produced by the staff of the TCC Connection in partnership with the League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa, National Association of Black Journalists – Tulsa Chapter, Tri-City Collective, Society of Professional Journalists Pro and Student chapters, and our partners at the college: Dean Annina Collier and Cindy Barton of the Center for Creativity, Dr. Eunice Tarver and Keidron Dotson and the Office of Student Success, Dean Kelly Clark and the Visual and Performing Arts Department, and Dr. Beverly Bailey and Dr. Jerry Goodwin and the Mass Communication Department.
